NewsOnline Nigeria reports that despite a commanding 4–0 victory over the Squirrels of Benin Republic, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have failed to secure automatic qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A sensational hat-trick from Victor Osimhen and a goal from Frank Onyeka powered Nigeria to a dominant win, but it wasn’t enough to seal their place, as South Africa’s 3–0 victory over Rwanda kept them at the top of the group.
The result means Nigeria will now have to wait for the next round of qualifiers to determine their World Cup fate.
