NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Goodluck Ihemnacho, the administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State, has officially resigned from his position.
He was one of the 23 local government administrators appointed by the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.).
In a resignation letter dated June 20, 2025, Ihemnacho explained that he was stepping down to return to the private sector.
The letter, which has been widely circulated on social media, expressed his gratitude to the Rivers State Government and the people of Ahoada East for the opportunity to serve from April 11 to July 20, 2025.
Although Ihemnacho cited personal reasons, there is speculation that his resignation may be linked to plans to participate in the upcoming local government elections, although this has not been officially confirmed.
