Senator Ahmed Wadada has resigned from SDP citing internal party disputes.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senator representing Nasarawa West, Ahmed Wadada, has officially resigned from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), citing prolonged internal disputes and divisions within the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the party chairman of Tudun Kofa Ward, Keffi Local Government Area, Wadada described the decision as difficult but necessary.

“I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effective immediately. This decision has not been taken lightly, but I feel compelled to do so due to the lingering internal crisis that has plagued our party for some time,” he stated.

The senator added that ongoing conflicts within the SDP had escalated into litigation and sharp divisions, making it untenable for him to continue his membership.

Wadada expressed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences he gained while in the party but did not reveal his next political move, leaving speculations about his future affiliations ahead of upcoming elections.

It is noteworthy that on August 13, after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Wadada praised the president’s performance, stating, “No presidential hopeful on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition platform can match Tinubu’s performance in office.”
