RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye Urges President Tinubu to Act Swiftly on Nigeria’s Security Crisis

Pastor Adeboye stressed the sanctity of every human life and urged the Federal Government to hold security agencies accountable with clear timelines.

RCCG’s Pastor Adeboye has urged President Tinubu to act swiftly on Nigeria’s security crisis.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tackle Nigeria’s worsening security challenges with urgency and strategic diplomacy, in light of concerns recently raised by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Speaking after the church’s November Holy Ghost Service themed “The Eve of Glory”, Pastor Adeboye stressed the sanctity of every human life and urged the Federal Government to hold security agencies accountable with clear timelines.

Adeboye proposed giving security chiefs 90 days to neutralise terrorists or step aside. He recalled making a similar recommendation during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, noting that initial progress was not sustained long enough to achieve lasting national stability.

The cleric also called on the government to identify and expose financiers of terrorism and insurgency, warning that social or political influence should not shield them from accountability. According to him, transparency in addressing terror financing would restore public confidence and strengthen national security.

Addressing the international dimension, Adeboye urged President Tinubu to engage diplomatically with President Trump, seeking a 100-day grace period before any foreign action, allowing Nigeria time to demonstrate measurable progress against terrorism.

He said, “In my usual quiet way, I have related with all the presidents who were around when this trouble started. Whatever I discussed with them privately, I did my best behind the scenes. But you can only advise the Commander-in-Chief, you can’t command him. If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely. Find a way to convince the President of America to delay his actions for about 100 days. Then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

Pastor Adeboye emphasised that any directive to service chiefs should include eliminating both terrorists and their sponsors, regardless of their influence, noting that decisive action is critical for national stability.

He warned that if foreign military action were taken, countries like China, Russia, or Britain would condemn the intervention but offer little support. He concluded: “This is not the time for jokes, grammar, or arguments. It’s not about Christians or Muslims, innocent people are dying.”

The cleric’s comments underscore growing domestic pressure on the Tinubu administration to act swiftly, transparently, and strategically to restore security across the nation.
