President Tinubu has ordered security chiefs to hunt down perpetrators of Niger market attack.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed top security officials to track down and arrest those responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji market in Niger State and ensure they are swiftly brought to justice.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu ordered the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately intensify efforts to apprehend the attackers.

The order follows a brutal assault by terrorists on a village market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, where nearly 40 people were killed. Several others were also abducted during the attack.

In addition to pursuing the assailants, the President directed security agencies to urgently rescue all victims abducted during the incident.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people,” Tinubu said. “They must face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice.”

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that those responsible for acts of terror across the country are held accountable.
