Buhari Makes New Appointment

President Buhari has made a new appointment.

 

News Online reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The appointment which is contained in a letter dated 16th July, 2021 with reference No: FME/PSE/NECO/1078/C.1/36 and signed by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, stated that the appointment which is for an initial tenure of five years, took effect from the 12th of July, 2021.

Wushishi, a Professor of Science Education, according to the statement signed by, Mr. Azeez Sani, the Head, Information and Public Relations Division of NECO, was born on April 5, 1965, and from Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger state.

Until his new appointment, Wushishi was a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Usmanu Danfodio University (UDU), Sokoto, before he later transferred his services to the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.

Wushishi held several positions in the education sector among which are; Post Graduate Coordinator, Department of Science Education, FUT, Minna, and as the Sub-Dean School of Science and Science Education, FUT, Minna.

Other positions Professor Wushishi held before now include; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, FUT Minna and Head of Department, Department of Science Education of state-owned, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai.

Sani also stated that Professor Wushishi was a Professor of Science Education (Chemistry) at the FUT, Minna, and has many scholarly publications to his credit and he is married to Children.

News Online reports that the appointment of Professor Wushishi followed the death of the former Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor Godswill Obioma who died a few months ago.

The Director, Special Duties of the Council, Mr. Ebikibina John Ogborodi was immediately announced as Acting Registrar before Wushishi’s appointment.
