Police have given an update on Chude Nnamdi who tweeted against Soludo and APGA.

NewsOnline reports that the Nigerian Police Force provided the most recent update on Nnamdi Chude, a staunch Labour Party supporter, on Wednesday (LP).

According to CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Chude is being investigated for cyberstalking.

The statement read in part, “The Nigeria Police hereby confirms that one Mr. Chude Franklin Nnamdi with Twitter handle @chude__was arrested in Onitsha, Anambra State on the 18th of March, 2023, and he is being investigated by the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC) Abuja, for cyberstalking, pursuant to a complaint received via a petition, about his activities on social media which contravenes the provision of Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and other criminal laws.”

The police, however, urged the general public to familiarize themselves with provisions of the law of the land and be aware of the penalties for violating them, particularly cybercrime laws with the new trends in the digital media space.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Police in Anambra State had last Saturday arrested Chude for tweeting against Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

Chude tweeted on Saturday, alleging that Soludo’s political party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, was involved in the rigging of the House of Assembly poll.

He claimed that Soludo was instrumental in the rigging, adding that some thugs carted away ballot boxes.
