PDP Reacts To Inclusion Of DSS DG Son, Bichi, In Tinubu PCC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised questions about the inclusion of the son of the Director-General of the Department of Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Abba Yusuf Bichi, into the campaign council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Newsonline reports that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the inclusion of the DSS DG’s son may likely compromise the fairness and transparency of the 2023 election.

Recall that the names of the children of President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, were all included in the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Campaign Council (NYCC).

Zara and Yusuf Buhari, children of President Muhammadu Buhari;  Kiki Osinbajo, child of vice president, Yemi Osinbajo; and Abba Yusuf Bichi, the son of DSS DG, Yusuf Magaji Bichi; were among the children of key APC stakeholders on the NYCC list.

The NYCC named ‘Jagaban’s Army’, was unveiled on Tuesday, by APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel.

“It is such an honour to welcome those that have gone ahead of me; from the legacy parties national youth leaders to the APC former youth leaders beginning from Dasuki Jallo to Sadiq Abubakar and Ismael Ahmed – to provide their support to the APC Nat Youth Wing Campaign Council,” Israel announced on Twitter.

In reaction to the inclusion of Abba Bichi’s name, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan and a member of Atiku Abubakar media campaign council, Reno Omokri, said the inclusion has answered questions on why the DSS moved against the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

“The DG of DSS’s son is a member of Tinubu’s campaign, according to Tinubu’s The Nation. Interesting. This explains a lot. The DSS move against Emefiele and the Naira redesign for one. We hope and pray the 2023 election can be free, fair and transparent!” Reno said.
