Newsonline Nigeria reports that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, is a 28-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and text battler who was born in Ogun State on March 24, 1995.
Reminisce once signed Oladips. Due to his conflict with his boss Reminisce, EDGE/LRR Records cancelled his contract.
When he finished second in D’Banj’s The King Is Here Challenge, that was his biggest breakthrough.
Oladips began taking part in music adventures while he was only 16 years old. He began as a text battler before becoming well-known among Facebook rap battlers. He prevailed in one of his key bouts against Don Geo.
OlaDips, who had a large following on Facebook before taking over the streets, began recording his songs after realizing that his Yoruba-infused flows had been well-received.
He performed a copy of a Drake and Trey Song that was widely embraced by the public. He wrote “Don’t Let Dagrin Down,” a stunning song dedicated to the late Dagrin, and it gained a ton of praise.
Then came his big break when Reminisce called and signed him to LRR/EDGE Records. Before releasing Lalalukulala, which was well appreciated, the artist released Bounce while still signed to the record label, which included label head Reminisce.
On July 1, 2019, word spread that Ola Dips had ended his contract with LRR/EDGE Records, shocking those who follow the Nigerian music industry. He then proceeded to release a song criticizing Label CEO Reminisce and accusing him of contract fraud and negligence.
According to him, this occurred because his career did not take off as quickly as he had been told, and less money was invested in his music career. The record company said they were merely providing assistance; they did not have a contract.
Ola Dips said in the song that he had been duped and was leaving the label with only 23,000 ($63) in his account.
Despite all, there have been new speculations that they are in good communication mode and have both moved past their conflict because they are frequently seen leaving comments on each other’s Instagram pictures.
After evicting the label, Ola Dips has been doing pretty much good and has gathered up an estimated net worth of $20,000.
