Nnamdi Kanu’s Health Deteriorates
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has accused the Nigerian government of applying double standards in its administration of justice, particularly against the Igbo people.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE Television on Sunday, Aguocha lamented that the rules governing the Igbos appear to differ from those applied to other ethnic groups in the country.
He condemned the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, despite recent presidential pardons granted to individuals he described as “drug lords and murderers.”
“In the administration of criminal justice in Nigeria, an Igbo man faces a host of challenges that other tribes do not experience,” Aguocha stated.
The lawmaker called on all Igbos to speak out collectively, even if it means resorting to peaceful protests, to demand fairness and the release of Kanu.
“In a recent series of pardons, President Tinubu granted clemency to drug lords and murderers, yet Nnamdi Kanu, who has committed no offence, has endured dehumanisation for ten years,” he lamented.
Aguocha’s remarks have reignited public debate about justice, fairness, and the treatment of ethnic minorities within Nigeria’s legal and political systems.
