CSB Conference’s Sustainability Awards

Nominations have commenced for CSB Conference’s Sustainability Awards.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that nominations have commenced for the upcoming 2023 Sustainability Award recognizing exceptional contributions to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship in Africa.

The awards will be held on the final day of the Certified Sustainable Business (CSB) Global Conference, 6th October 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria. The initiative is organized by the Sustainable Green Environment Initiative (SGEi) in collaboration with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Deloitte amongst several other stakeholders.

As sustainability takes center stage on the global agenda, the Sustainability Award aims to celebrate and honor organizations that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to sustainable practices, environmental protection, and social responsibility. The award is open to businesses, NGOs, government agencies, and other institutions that have made significant strides in fostering a greener, more sustainable future.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Sustainability Award at the Certified Sustainable Business Global Conference 2023,” said Dr. Sanmi Olowosile, the Chairman of the Board of the Sustainable Green Environment Initiative. “This award represents our commitment to acknowledging and celebrating the tireless efforts of organizations that have shown leadership in driving positive change and advancing sustainable development”.

The Sustainability Award features nine categories namely; Sustainable Business Leadership, Eco-Innovation in Technology, Restore Green Africa, Sustainability Impact, Sustainable Food Champion, Sustainable Education Champion, Sustainability Journalism Excellence, Collaboration for Excellence, and Sustainability Leadership Awards.

A panel of distinguished experts and sustainability professionals will be responsible for evaluating the nominees and selecting the finalists. The judging process will be rigorous and transparent, ensuring that only the most deserving organizations receive this prestigious accolade. “The Sustainability Awards is more than just an accolade; it is a testament to the enduring commitment of organizations towards sustainability and responsible business practices,” said David Goodman, one of the esteemed judges for the award. “We anticipate seeing remarkable contributions from various industries and sectors that will serve as inspiration to others on their sustainability journey.”

According to Goodman, winners of the Sustainability Awards will gain visibility on a global platform, receiving recognition and acclaim for their sustainable practices. They will also have the opportunity to share their success stories during the award ceremony, inspiring others to embrace sustainability as a core business value.

The organisers of the awards have stated that they will maintain strict confidentiality throughout the nomination and evaluation process. They will also ensure that the panel members adhere to ethical standards and avoid any conflicts of interest. Measures to ensure the objectivity and impartiality of the selection process will be adhered to and strictly followed.

Nominations for the Sustainability Award 2023 are now open from 12th August 2023, and organizations are encouraged to submit their applications through the official conference website: www.csbconference.com/sustainabilityawards2023.
