1. Scores of children were on Saturday allegedly found in an underground apartment of a church in the Valentino Area of Ondo town, Ondo State, on Friday evening. It was gathered that the children were allegedly kidnapped and kept in the underground apartment of the church.

2. There was a mild drama in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday as former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, was seen riding a tricycle and later stopped to pick a passenger. Obasanjo rode the tricycle, popularly called “Keke” from the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, through the popular Kuto under bridge.

3. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has returned to Port Harcourt after a six day vacation in Turkey. He returned alongside his Abia State counterpart, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.

4. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday said it was closely monitoring the security situation in Osun, ahead of July 16 governorship election. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this in Abuja at a special meeting of the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

5. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, have vowed not to allow Fulanis Islamize Nigeria. IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, claimed that Igbos are being targeted by Boko Haram and other terrorist groups because they stopped Fulanis from Islamizing the Southeast and Nigeria.

6. The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has expressed its readiness to work with stakeholders to curb anticipated cases of vote-buying in the July 16 Governorship election in Osun State, explaining that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC would soon prosecute those caught in last month’s governorship election in Ekiti.

7. Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked three villages in Kaduna community, killed 20 people and abducted 25 women. A resident in the area, Ibrahim Mustapha, revealed that the bandits invaded the community around 2pm, shooting sporadically, before whisking away their victims.

8. Two people have been killed in a crash when a Toyota Hiace rammed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside in Sapamuro village of Kogi State. The FRSC said the dead victims have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, while the injured victims were also taken to the same hospital for medical attention.

9. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has kicked against the reintroduction of the Water Resources Bill before the National Assembly, describing it as evil. The controversial proposed legislation, which had generated outrage across the country in the past, was reintroduced a few days ago by the Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Sada Soli.

10. Worshippers at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, located in Mushin area of Lagos State might be stranded on Sunday (today), as the state government has started pulling down the remaining part of the church structure, which
collapsed on Friday.
