Napoli top striker for the 2021/2022 session, has been given a new role for the 2022/2023 Seria A session by the manager, Luciano Spalletti.
Newsonline reports that the new role follows the exit of Lorenzo Insigne, and other key players of the club.
According to changes made by Luciano Spalletti ahead of the new season starting in a week, the Nigeria international will be taking penalty kicks for the club.
The former spot-kick taker, Lorenzo Insigne, left Napoli for Major League Soccer side, MLS Toronto FC.
Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been appointed the penalty taker for Napoli.

This is following the departure of a few key players from the club, setting Osimhen out as one of Il Partenopei’s most influential stars.
Osimhen will take charge of the spot kicks as the number one penalty taker, heading into the 2022-2023 season.
The Nigeria international takes over the responsibility from Italian playmaker, Lorenzo Insigne, who is now with Major League Soccer side, MLS Toronto FC.
The 22 years old Osimhen had while playing for Sporting Charleroi and Lille converted six out of eight spot kicks.
On Sunday’s friendly match against Mallorca, Osimhen converted a penalty kick past Mallorca’s goalkeeper’s net.
The penalty kick came just eight minutes in the game between Napoli versus Mallorca when the referee spotted a handball in the Mallorca box and awarded Napoli a spot-kick
