1. Chicago State University, United States of America has released to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar the academic records of President Bola Tinubu. The CSU released the documents to Atiku on Monday in compliance with the order of a United States District Court in Northern District of Illinois.

2. A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Monday, appeared before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in the United Kingdom over an alleged £100,000 bribe. The district judge, Michael Snow, granted Alison-Madueke a £70,000 bail. Snow further imposed other terms on Alison-Madueke, including an 11 pm to 6 am curfew.

3. The organised Labour says it has suspended the indefinite strike called over nationwide hardship. In a communique issued after its meeting on Monday, the union announced that the strike had been suspended for 30 days. The communiqué also mandated the Minister of Labour to look into the withheld salaries of university staff.

4. The Executive Members of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) have directed their members to resume work at the nation’s seaports and oil and gas platforms. The union had earlier ordered closure of all the nation’s Seaports, Jetties, Oil & Gas platforms and terminals in compliance with the organized labour’s directive on the indefinite strike which was to commence on Tuesday.

5. The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, the State capital, has ordered the withdrawal of Certificate of Return issued to Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the March 18 election. David Ubugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was declared winner.

6. The Rivers State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Basil Igwebueze has confirmed that a pregnant woman, the son of the illegal refinery owner and an about-to-wed lady were among victims of the fire that engulfed an illegal refinery at Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area. He said while the owner of the illegal refinery identified as John Bodo sustained severe injuries, his son, Uche Bodo, who just graduated from a tertiary institution, died at the spot.

7. The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has lamented the ‘dollarisation’ of the Nigerian economy. In an interview on Monday, Obi added that the use of the dollar in the country has led to unproductivity.

8. A family of four, father, mother, and their two children, were on Monday, electrocuted during a power surge in the Dinyavoh area of Jalingo, Taraba State. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, however, said the last child of the family survived the incident.

9. Hoodlums suspected to be enforcing a sit-at-home order at Ezzangbo community, the Ebonyi State hometown of self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafran Government in exile, Simon Ekpa, on Monday, burnt three vehicles, five motorcycles and other valuable items. The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the mayhem.

10. The Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, has said Nigerians should pray that the country’s refineries do not work. Oyedele, who spoke at The Platform’s Independence Anniversary event, held in Lagos on Monday, said should Nigerian refineries produce petroleum, inefficiencies in the management might make a litre of petrol the most expensive in the world.
