1. The organised labour on Monday directed its members to commence a nationwide strike over the assault on Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Joe Ajaero, starting from midnight of Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The organised labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, said all affiliate unions of the two labour centres had been directed to implement the resolutions of the joint National Executive Council of TUC and NLC.
2. The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has lamented that the current administration inherited a bankrupt country from the previous administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, the revenue generated by the Bola Tinubu-led administration is being used to repay what was taken from the country.
3. A young woman from Mbadyur council ward in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, Sughshater Ushahemba, has allegedly killed her 11-month-old baby through poison. The police were said to have arrested the woman and investigating the reason for taking the life of her baby.
4. The Federal Government on Monday asked the organised Labour to shelve its planned strike slated to commence on Tuesday (today). The government reminded the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of a restraining order issued by the National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Friday.
5. The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Monday, announced the incumbent governor, Douye Diri, winner of the Bayelsa State governorship election held on Saturday. Diri, defeated Chief Timipre Sylva, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and sixteen others in the Saturday election.
6. President Bola Tinubu has directed the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to urgently evolve ways to improve the welfare of the nation’s judicial officers. Tinubu, who assured the Judiciary of the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the challenges confronting that arm of government, advocated for the appointment of justices of the appellate court from outside the bench.
7. Saudi Arabian authorities have cancelled the visas of 264 passengers airlifted by Air Peace. The travellers discovered their fate on arrival in Jeddah from Kano; the authorities insisted the airline must return to Nigeria. Only 87 of the 264 passengers were cleared after Nigerian embassy officials intervened.

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has called on his supporters, as well as the people of the state, to exercise some measure of restraint ahead of the Court of Appeal hearing fixed for Wednesday. They jointly told journalists that the call was due to alleged massive rigging as well as the diversion of electoral materials to private homes where they were thumb-printed.

Justice Abiola Sholadoye of the Ikeja Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Monday arraigned and sentenced a 32-year-old street sweeper, Damilola Omojolowo, to life imprisonment for defiling a 14-year-old girl. Omojolowo was convicted on one count of defilement of the girl, whom he claimed was his girlfriend.
