1. President Bola Tinubu has said the country cannot continue to service its debt with 90 percent of its revenue. He noted that the country was headed for destruction should that continue. Tinubu spoke during the Annual Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association on Sunday in Abuja.
2. The Nigerian Navy has vowed to fish out, arrest, and prosecute fleeing owners of abandoned sea-going vessels arrested for alleged illegal oil bunkering activities. A 29-year-old South African drug trafficker, Erasmus Jean-Pierre, has been arrested in Nigeria for attempting to export 2.6kg of methamphetamine concealed in his luggage to Middle-East Asia through Nigeria. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it frustrated the moves by a transnational cartel to ship drugs concealed in a pair of male slippers and a wooden drum to Indonesia.
4. A yet-to-be-identified suspected armed robber has been beaten to death while attempting to rob a resident identified simply as Victor at Olugboso in the Agege area of Lagos State.
