NEMA Releases Data On Flood Ravaging FCT, Abia, Edo, Rivers,  Anambra, 14 Other States (FULL LIST)

NEMA has released data on flood ravaging FCT, Abia, Edo, Rivers, and Anambra among 14 other states.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has released alarming statistics on the devastating impact of floods across 19 states in Nigeria, highlighting that women and children remain the most affected demographic.

 

According to data published on the agency’s official dashboard on Friday, the states hit hardest by the disaster include Imo, Rivers, Abia, Borno, and Kaduna.

So far, over 119,791 people have been affected, with 165 confirmed dead, 82 missing, and 138 sustaining various degrees of injuries. Additionally, 43,936 people have been displaced, while 8,594 houses and 8,278 farmlands have been destroyed across 43 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

 

The breakdown of the affected victims reveals 53,314 children, 36,573 women, 24,600 men, 5,304 elderly persons, and 1,863 persons with disabilities.

 

The 19 states impacted by the floods are:
Abia, FCT, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto.

 

NEMA continues to monitor the situation and is coordinating emergency response efforts across the affected areas.
