Kano State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, has said with the entire voters in Nasarawa local government of the state more than the entire voting population of South East, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu will win the 2023 election.

Newsonline reports that Garba also said the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, though a former governor of Kano state will not win Tinubu in the state.

Garba said this while speaking on the theme ‘Let’s Talk Nigeria’ at a media chat organized by the Kaduna State League of Veteran Journalists in collaboration with The Arewa House and the Hamdala Hotel, Kaduna.

Garba who spoke on behalf of the Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje, assured journalists and Nigerians that all presidential candidates of the different political parties will be given a fair ground for the voters to vote based on their convictions.

The commissioner for Information admitted that Kwankwaso has enough ground in the state as a former governor, but added he (Kwankwaso) may be faced with the history of 1993 election.

He said, “I know the former governor of the state is also going to be on the ballot but history can repeat itself again in Kano because late Moshood Abiola of the defunct SDP defeated Kano born late Bashir Tofa of the defunct NRC during the 1993 presidential election.

“I am confident that Kano State will produce lots of votes come 2023. The votes from Nasarawa Local Government of the state alone is more than the entire votes of the South-Eastern states combined. I am confident we will deliver Kano State to APC.

“The state government will provide an enabling environment for all the candidates and anything can happen and all candidates will certainly get their share of votes depending on how the electorates perceived them.”
