NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has alleged that she was assaulted by uniformed officers while distributing free meals to homeless people in Lagos.

In an Instagram post, the actress recounted that she was in the middle of her outreach program when she was suddenly confronted by officials believed to be members of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force.

According to Sarah, the officers harassed her, confiscated her cooking utensils and food supplies, and abruptly halted her charity outreach.

She also shared a video on Instagram showing her injured hand, expressing both pain and disbelief over what she described as an unprovoked and heartbreaking assault.

In her post, Sarah wrote, “My heart aches. Today, while I was cooking free meals for the vulnerable and homeless people on the streets of Lagos — something I’ve always done — some uniformed men showed up, harassed me, bullied me, and seized all the food I was preparing, along with my cooking gas and utensils.

“My only offense was serving love on a plate through my healthy meals. I’m not a chef, and I don’t cook for a living.”

The actress clarified that her outreach was purely an act of compassion meant to support those in need. She also urged the relevant authorities to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice, stressing that her only goal was to help the homeless and spread kindness in her community.
