JUST IN: Insecurity: Bandits Kill 16, Sack Villages In Taraba

Armed bandits have again struck villages in Taraba State, with at least sixteen lives lost while many villages were sacked.

 

Newsonline reports that the attack which took place this weekend was confirmed by Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman.

 

A civil servant, Abdullahi Chul, who disclosed the attack stated that the communities invaded by the attackers are Gidado and Garinkuka villages in Gunduma district of Mutum-Biyu chiefdom in Gassol Local Government Area.

Chul, a staff of the local government, said the attackers invaded the communities in their numbers, using their motorcycles.

 

Chul said the attackers, on arriving in the communities, were shooting sporadically, adding that several other persons escaped with gunshot injuries.

 

The PPRO, Abdullahi further disclosed that men of the command anti-banditry unit have been sent to the communities to restore order.
