JUST IN: Another Owo Attack- APC Chieftain, Traditional Ruler, Chiefs Abducted By Bandits

JUST IN: Another Owo Attack- APC Chieftain, Traditional Ruler, Chiefs Abducted By Bandits

Months after the St Francis Catholic Church attack in Owo, Ondo State, bandits have attacked again, abducting, All Progress Congress Chieftain, traditional ruler, and his chiefs in Owo, Ondo State.

 

Newsonline reports that the attack happened on Thursday night while the victims were on transit along Ago Panu axis on the Owo-Ikare highway.

 

The bandits abducted, the traditional head of Iku quarter, the Oniku of Iku quarters in Ikare Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, High Chief Mukaila Bello, another traditional chief, Yeye Gbafinro, a former House of Assembly candidate for the Akoko North-East constituency and APC chieftain, Adeniran Adeyemo, as well as a community leader, Bashiru Adekile.

Tension is mounting in the community as youths are mobilizing against the attackers.

 

The victims were on their way to Ikare-Akoko from Akure, the State capital when they were waylaid on the road.

 

A village source said the driver of the vehicle conveying the victims was macheted by the bandits and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Owo.

 

The Police and State government have not released official statements on the attack.
