Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze has blasted the governors of South-East accusing them of trading the pride of Ndigbo with their selfish interest.

Newsonline reports, that the apex Igbo socio-political group stated that governors abandoned Igbo aspirants in the two major political parties for their selfish interest against their people.

Ohanaeze described the governors of South-East as the real enemies of Ndigbo in the call for equity and fairness.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, who stated this on Saturday, said the two major political parties, the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are not to blame for not giving Igbo aspirants their presidential slot.

Mazi Nnabuike said, it was wrong for Ndigbo to blame the Presidential candidates as it was their governors that sold their interest and call for equity with their selfish interest.

“It is wrong for anyone to say the delegates should be punished. Nobody should touch any of the delegates to the PDP and the APC national conventions.

“The real enemies of Ndigbo are the governors who ordered the delegates to vote for non-Igbos. It is a show of shame that the South-East governors could not muster votes to at least show the rest of the country that we are serious with the demand for a Nigeria President of Igbo extraction.

“Instead, they traded-off our pride with their selfish interest. They have by this singular act shown themselves to be the real enemies of Ndigbo.”

Mazi Nnabuike called on Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Association of South-East Town Unions, ASETU, to join hands with Ohanaeze youths to effect the needed change in the region.

“We, therefore, call on the MASSOB and ASETU to direct their anger towards the governors, who must tell us what happened to Igbo votes during the conventions. Any attempt to attack the delegates is an exercise in futility and would be resisted,” Okwu stated.
