The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has threatened to hit back at the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if they kill the case the state party chapter filed against the SDP and APC.
NewsOnline reports that Wike said the national leadership of the PDP headed by Iyorchia Ayu and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have committed anti-party activities against the party. therefore, should not cry foul of anti-party activities by other party members.
The Rivers State governor said this in Etch local government at the flag-off of the states governorship rally on Monday.
Wike’s reaction followed the threat by the national leadership of the PDP stating that lawyers recruited to appear for the party in legal cases without briefing and authorization from the national leadership shall be visited with stringent measures in line with the party’s constitution.
The spokesperson Debo Ologunagba referred to Article 42 of PDP’s constitution (as amended in 2017) which places the exclusive responsibility of conducting litigations on the National Legal Adviser.

Nyesome Wike in reaction on Monday at the Etche campaign ground warned any plan by the national leadership of the party to sanction him or any of the G-5 governors will be disastrous for the party. He said anti-party begets anti-party.
“Anti-party begets anti-party. You seen what they did? We took small parties in Rivers to court…APC, SDP.
“The people in Abuja that say they are national went and collude, wrote to our lawyers to hands off the case in plan to kill the cases we filed.
“I have told him to remove them. No problem, the cases will die. Me too, I’ll hit them back by tomorrow (Tuesday),” Wike threatened.
