The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has sent emotionally laden messages to supporters who are having a one million march rally across ProtHarcourt in Rivers, Makurdi in Benue, Auchi in Edo and Afikpo in Ebonyi.
Newsonline reports that Peter Obi said it was a high show of patriotism that youths were not deterred by the rain or sun but come out en mass to show support for his presidential ambition.
The former Anambra state governor who presently is in Rome, Italy, on Saturday, appreciated the youths with a promise that their labour will not be in vain.
He said, “We are watching as Port Harcourt, Auchi, Makurdi and Afikpo move OBIdiently today, under the sun and in the rain.
“Constitutional rights to peaceful assembly are protected and must be respected by all.
“Our labours will never be in vain. I appreciate you all.”

Recall that the Labour Party presidential candidate, on Friday in Frankfurt, Germany, in an address to Nigerians in Diaspora, promised to implement diaspora voting by 2027 if he wins the 2023 election.
Peter while addressing questions from the Frankfurt Nigerians in the Diaspora community also promised to invest in human capital development of the citizens, and maintain good relationships between Nigeria and other African countries.
He said, “We will continue to engage the Nigerian Diaspora in ways that are mutually beneficial. By 2027 election, Nigerian Diaspora must have a voice via absentee ballots.
“We will aggressively pursue human capital development in the education and health sectors with a view to meeting global funding targets and best practices.”
He added, “Africa will remain the centerpiece of our foreign policy. We will improve Nigeria’s diplomatic sphere of influence via peacekeeping, trade, and investment initiatives.
“We will move our country robustly from consumption to production and especially with strong support from exportation of Nigerian manufactured goods and commodities.
“We will pursue intangible assets of good governance, security of lives and properties through an aggressive increase in personnel and equipment and inclusive training of operatives in our security agencies.”
