Newsonline had earlier reported that the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, on Monday, November 1, arrested popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, better known as “Obi Cubana“.
This online newspaper understands that Obi Cubana, who arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at about noon on Monday, is currently being interrogated by EFCC operatives.
Though allegations against the Anambra-born club owner, were sketchy as of press time, the report quoted a source told Channels that his arrests borders on alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
However, Obi Cubana was released from EFCC custody on Tuesday after being interrogated by the commission’s investigators.
Sharing the news of his release, Lucky Luciano, the Executive Director Cubana Group and a friend to Obi Cubana, made this known via an Instagram post.
According to the close associate of Obi Cubana, the ‘son of man’ has set free is free indeed.
Reacting to his arrest and subsequent release, Obi Cubana thanked his supporters for believing in him during his ordeal.
The socialite posted a simple statement alongside a photograph of himself.
He wrote: “Okpataozueora! I love you ALL!!❤❤❤❤❤ UNBROKEN”
