NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Gospel singer Frank Edwards has recounted how the late evangelist Rev. Uma Ukpai miraculously healed him of asthma and pneumonia at the age of eight.
In a heartfelt tribute shared via Instagram on Monday, Edwards reflected on the profound impact of the revered preacher, who passed away on October 6 at the age of 80.
The singer revealed that his healing occurred during one of Ukpai’s crusades in Enugu, expressing deep gratitude for the cleric’s spiritual influence.
“At age 8, I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way. YOU FINISHED WELL, PAPA. REST ON,” he wrote.
Rev. Uma Ukpai, founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, was celebrated for his powerful crusades, healing ministries, and humanitarian projects such as the Uma Ukpai Eye Centre, King of Kings Hospital, and the Uma Ukpai School of Theology.
Despite personal tragedies, including the loss of two children in an accident, the evangelist remained steadfast in his mission to spread faith and hope across Nigeria and beyond.
Following his passing, several gospel artists, including Nathaniel Bassey and Moses Bliss, took to social media to honour his legacy and lifelong dedication to God’s work.
