Handbag: Police Summons Atiku's Wife Over Abuse Of Orderly

The Nigeria Police have summoned the wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, Hajia Titi Abubakar, for abuse of her police orderly.

Newsonline reports that the wife of Atiku in an event gave her handbag to her orderly while she reads her keynote speech on Wednesday, in Abuja.

The event was the launching of Hajia Titi’s SHE initiative which entails security, health and education of the girl child.

The PDP presidential candidate who was present at the event said, “the S.H.E initiative by my wife, Hajia Titi Abubakar, entails concepts that are dear to me. Security Health and Education. These three concepts define the scope of true freedom for any individual, especially the girl child.”

Atiku added, “therefore, the SHE agenda is pace-setting, and I know Titi to be dogged in causes that she believes in. Launching the S.H.E initiative office in Abuja this morning comes with a commitment from me to support the initiative all the way.”

Photos from the event, which surfaced on social media, showed that the former vice president’s wife gave her handbag to her police orderly. The picture attracted criticism from the citizens who condemned the act of Titi Abubakar, in converting a police officer into a handbag carrier when she has a personal assistant.

Force PPRO, Adejobi said, “This is not acceptable. We have commenced necessary action on this. We will fish her out and get across to the principal. The AIG Special Protection Unit has been contacted to assist us get the woman police. Gradually, we will sanitize the system.”

The Police further queried, “How can an orderly be carrying bag for her madam? I am sure the madam will have a PA, and that is the PAs job, its an absurdity and this is condemned in its totality.”

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, who also reacted to the picture tweeted, “This is why the system must be completely changed, police officers have become slaves to our elites instead of doing their legit duties protecting the populace.”
