Governor Yusuf has vowed to approve the killing of the man who bombed the Kano Mosque.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State clarified that the bombing of a mosque in Gadan village, Gezawa Local Government Area, last Wednesday, was not driven by extremism or political motives but rather stemmed from familial disputes over inheritance.

During his visit to injured victims at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano on Sunday, following his return from an official trip to Abuja, Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of prosecuting the perpetrator in the Shariah court.

He stated, “Whatever the court decides, we will ensure that the victims of the Gadan village arson get justice and if it condemns him to death after finding him guilty, we will not hesitate to sign the death warrant.”

Governor Yusuf further clarified, “For the avoidance of any doubt, the incendiarism that led to the death of 15 out of the 24 victims was neither politically motivated nor a terrorist attack on the residents of the state.”

The perpetrator, identified as Abubakar, had thrown a locally-made bomb into the mosque during early morning prayers.

In a gesture of support, the governor donated N100,000 to each victim during his visit to the hospital.
