Google has expanded search live globally and enabled voice and camera AI conversations in over 200 countries.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Google has announced the global expansion of its Search Live feature, allowing users in more than 200 countries and territories to have real-time, interactive conversations with its search engine using voice and camera.
The new rollout is powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, an upgraded audio and voice model designed to deliver more natural and intuitive conversations. The model is inherently multilingual, enabling users around the world to interact with Search in their preferred languages.

With the new feature, users can engage with Search through voice within the Google app on Android and iOS devices. By tapping the Live icon located under the search bar, users can ask questions aloud and receive audio responses while continuing the conversation with follow-up questions or exploring additional web links provided in the results.
The feature is designed for situations where typing may not be convenient and users need real-time assistance. For example, users can activate their device camera to provide visual context, allowing the search engine to analyse what is in front of them and offer practical suggestions along with relevant information sources.
Search Live can also be accessed while using Google Lens. Users pointing their camera at an object can tap the Live option on the screen to initiate a back-and-forth conversation with Search about what they are seeing.
Google said the expansion reflects its ongoing effort to make search more helpful and interactive, enabling users worldwide to learn, explore and solve everyday problems more easily through conversational AI technology.
