Pochettino’s Plans in Jeopardy: Neville Points Out Must-Fit Chelsea Pair for EPL Success.

Newsonline Nigeria report that Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has highlighted the imperative need for Reece James and Ben Chilwell to maintain their fitness, following their team’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday. During the game at Stamford Bridge, both James and Chilwell sustained injuries that forced them to leave the field in the second half.

The duo has encountered challenges in terms of form and fitness in recent seasons, and Neville asserts that their availability is paramount to the tactical setup envisaged by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

According to Gary Neville, the former footballer and pundit, Chelsea’s wing-backs showcased their fantastic skills in the game, but unfortunately, both of them had to be substituted. This substitution could potentially disrupt the plans of Tottenham Hotspur’s coach, Mauricio Pochettino, who relies on wing-backs to excel in both attacking and defensive aspects of the game.

Neville emphasized the importance of having exceptional quality in wing-backs, who should possess the ability to attack like wingers and defend like full-backs. Chelsea seems to have found such players, but the big concern revolves around their fitness. If these wing-backs struggle with injuries and are unable to maintain their fitness, it could significantly impact the team’s performance and potentially derail their gameplay.
