NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the recent tragic stampedes in Oyo State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Anambra State, which resulted in significant loss of lives and injuries.
In a condolence message released on Sunday, Buhari extended his sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, and Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. He urged them to convey his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
Buhari also extended his sympathy to the Catholic community, acknowledging the profound impact the tragedies have had on them.
Amidst the sombre message, the former President shared warm Christmas and New Year greetings with Nigerians, encouraging citizens to embrace the noble teachings of Jesus Christ. He expressed hope that the coming year, 2025, would bring prosperity, peace, and good health to all.
