FG has predicted heavy rainfall in 12 states.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government through the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted heavy rain in twelve states this week.

According to NiMet’s weekly weather report (valid from September 10 to 16), the combination of moisture and wind patterns will likely lead to heavy rainfall in these areas.

The affected states are Bauchi, Niger, Bayelsa, Kaduna, Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Taraba, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Rivers, and Delta.

The report also mentioned moderate to heavy rain in Adamawa, Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Kwara, Benue, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states.

NiMet further predicted moderate rain in Enugu and Kebbi states, and lighter rain in Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, and Sokoto states.

The agency warned that flash floods may occur on roads, bridges, and low-lying areas, potentially disrupting traffic.

It urged the public to stay safe and avoid walking through fast-moving water.
