Ezekwesili Opens Up On Preferred Presidential Candidate, Laments Country’s Bad Leadership

A former minister, Oby Ezekwesili has disclosed her Preferred Presidential Candidate even as she lamented the  Country’s poor Leadership

 

Newsonline reports that a former Minister of Education, Dr, Oby Ezekwesili, has named her preferred presidential candidate among the three leading candidates for the 2023 election.

 

Ezekwesili says Peter Obi, standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP),  is more competent than other presidential candidates.

Ezekwesili disclosed this while fielding questions on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics.

 

Her comment is coming on the heels of recent massive rallies held by Obi’s supporters in several parts of the country to mobilise support for the Labour Party man.

 

This online media platform reported the rallies held in Lagos, Edo State, Delta, Kaduna, other States across Nigeria, the rallies held in Lagos, Edo State, Delta, Kaduna, other States across Nigeria, and London, the United Kingdom.

 

The former minister said Obi, one-time a governor of Anambra State, possesses what others do not have, even as the country suffers from poor leadership.

“Somebody says to you, between a cast of possible presidents that include the three frontrunners that we currently have – a possible President Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi – do you need anybody to tell you where you would be going? It would be an Obi.

 

“Regardless of the fact that he comes from that particular political class that we are talking about, he still at least represents many more shapes than the other two top candidates (in reference to Atiku and Tinubu),” she added.

 

She also lamented the country’s leadership problem, adding that the country has recorded stunted growth as a result of it.

 

However, she acknowledged that the current political awakening in the country, especially among youths, will alter the landscape.
