Newsonline reports that, Nigerian singer and Amapiano killer, Davido has reacted to a tweet by one South African DJ, Maphorisa who replied a tweet made by a Davido fan claiming the singer brought the now popular Amapiano sound into global recognition.
The drama started after a Davido fan tweeted that, Davido put Amapiano sound on the global stage and further claimed Wizkid is now only just jumping on the sound after it has come to limelight.
Maphorisa then replied to the tweet claiming Wizkid and Burna boy were the first to actually jump on the song when South African singer and producer Kabza the Smalls put them both on a song reportedly titled “Sponono”. And further said the primary tweep should do more research before spewing out tweets of such nature.
He proceeded to say, that was the first time Wizkid and Burna Boy jumped on a song together.
This claims generated a lot of arguement on twitter with many referencing Focalistic’s “Ke Star” remix with Davido has the highlight of Amapiano’s global dominance.
Davido then came online to reply to the tweet by Maphorisa stating the DJ has never liked him and that he has always been good to him. He then quoted a lyrics “Awayyyyyyyyy now” from his second joint effort with Focalistic on their year end party jam “Champion sound”.
