COAS has warned IPOB and ESN not to threaten Nigeria’s Integrity.

NewsOnline reports that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Eastern Security Network, ESN, and other separatist groups have been warned against threatening the integrity of Nigeria.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, warned that IPOB, ESN, or any other group or individuals have no constitutional backing to threaten Nigeria’s integrity.

Yahaya issued the warning at an Army event in Abuja yesterday.

He said: “Let me state here that elections or no elections, neither IPOB, ESN nor any other group or individuals should threaten the integrity of this Nation as enshrined in the Constitution of Nigeria.

“I must commend you all for your adherence to all guidelines and implementation of decisions taken during last Year’s Annual Conference as evident in our professional conduct and apolitical disposition during the just concluded general elections.”

The COAS also expressed satisfaction with the commendations troops got from various groups after the 2023 general elections.

IPOB and ESN have been agitating for Nigeria’s break up, and by extension, the actualization of Biafra.

The group anchored its agitation on the alleged marginalization of the Southeast by the Nigerian government.
