CAC has introduced new mandatory requirements for Business Name Online Updates.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced new compulsory information fields for all Business Name Online Update requests, effective immediately.

In an advisory titled “Important Notice For Business Name Update” shared via its official X handle on Wednesday, the commission said applicants must now provide the following details:

  • Date of Birth

  • Registered Office Email

  • Proprietor’s Email

  • Phone Number for the Registered Address (or Proprietor’s number, if different)

  • Valid Means of Identification

The CAC explained that the additional requirements are aimed at improving verification processes and ensuring seamless handling of update requests.

“Please provide these details to ensure smooth processing,” the notice added.

The new directive is part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, enhance record accuracy, and streamline business registration services nationwide.
