Buhari @80: Osinbajo, Lawan, Akinwumi Praise The President

As the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari celebrates his @80 years birthday on Saturday (today), the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and the president of African Development Bank (AFDB) Akinwumi Adesina have poured praises on Nigeria’s number one citizen.

Newsonline reports that while the three of Osinbajo, Lawan and Akinwumi collectively wished President Buhari good health and long life, they also spoke from their hearts about how the president impacted their lives and career.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who has been the vice president of President Buhari since 2015 described the president as an unblemished man who did not allow his political office to dent his character and integrity.

“Happy 80th Birthday, Mr. President! Your extraordinary life of unblemished service to the nation in the army, as a Governor, Minister, Military Head of State and as a two-term Civilian President demonstrates that it is possible to serve the nation and our people honestly forthrightly and selflessly.

“Dolly and I, and the family wish you many more happy years in peace and good health in Jesus name,” Osinbajo said.

For the president of AFDB, Akinwumi Adesina, President Buhari has been a blessing to him. Akinwumi was a former Minister of Agriculture under the PDP administration of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.

It was, however, President Buhari, when he took over power in 2015 that supported his emergence as president of AFDB. After his first tenure, Buhari also supported his second-term ambition which the then United States president, Donald Trump was against. Akinwumi emerged victorious through Buhari’s support.

Akinwumi Adesina tweeted, “I wish you President Muhammadu Buhari a very happy 80th birthday. You have been a blessing to me in many ways. May God grant you much joy, good health and many happy returns. Congratulations dear Mr. President.”
