2025 WASSCE Results

WAEC has cancelled all released 2025 WASSCE Results for further review.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially cancelled the previously released results of the 2025 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), citing the need for an urgent technical review.

In a statement released on Thursday, WAEC’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, disclosed that the decision followed the detection of serious glitches and bugs within the result processing system.

WAEC stated that the anomalies, discovered through its serialization process on key subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics, necessitated a comprehensive system-wide review to ensure accuracy and integrity.

As a result, the result-checking portal has been temporarily shut down, and candidates who previously accessed their results are now advised to recheck them after 24 hours, starting from today, Thursday, August 7, 2025.

WAEC further apologized for the inconvenience caused, noting that the technical issues are being addressed urgently. This latest update follows Wednesday’s announcement of a temporary shutdown of its result checker due to system errors.

Earlier this week, WAEC had released the 2025 WASSCE results for over 1.9 million candidates across 23,000 schools nationwide. The sudden recall of the results has sparked concern among students, parents, and educators awaiting final academic outcomes.

WAEC reassured stakeholders that all necessary corrections will be made swiftly and transparently, and the updated results will be accessible once the glitches are resolved.
