According to the statement, President Tinubu has approved the recruitment of an additional 20,000 police personnel, raising the total number of new officers slated for enlistment to 50,000. He also authorised the temporary use of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps as training centres to accelerate the mobilisation process.

The President warned criminal elements that the government’s restraint should not be mistaken for weakness, declaring that security agencies have been fully empowered to take decisive action.

Tinubu also appealed for unity, vigilance, and collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

“We are in this fight together, and together we shall win,” the President said.

The nationwide security emergency marks one of Tinubu’s most sweeping responses yet to the country’s worsening security challenges.
