BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints Wike Ally, Top Scholars to Key Varsity Positions (FULL LIST)

Hon. Chisom Dan Orbih, an ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has been appointed to the Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, replacing a deceased member.

President Tinubu has appointed Wike Ally and other Top Scholars to key varsity positions.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has approved new appointments to the governing councils and management teams of several federal universities across Nigeria, filling key vacancies and reshaping leadership in higher education.

Hon. Chisom Dan Orbih, an ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has been appointed to the Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, replacing a deceased member.

Renowned communications scholar Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye will now serve on the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The former UNILAG Mass Communication Head and chairman of UNILAG Radio/TV takes over from Mr. Wahab Owokoniran, recently named Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Transport, Daura.

In a significant academic leadership change, Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai; Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano has been appointed Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe, Zamfara State.

The President also confirmed the appointments of Hamisu Yusuf Yelwa as Registrar, Usman Nakazalle Sanusi as Bursar, and Dr. Shehu Aminu Liman as Librarian of the same university.

  6. Dr. Shehu Aminu Liman – Librarian, Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.

Prof. Yakasai, a retired Nigerian Army Colonel and eminent medical expert, holds fellowships from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), International College of Surgeons (USA), and American College of Surgeons. He previously served as Director-General of the Hospitals Management Board, Kano State, and is the current chairman of the Committee of Provosts of Colleges of Medicine in Nigeria.
