Senator Jimoh has named PDP Governors who are set to Join APC.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South in the national assembly, has claimed that some governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition parties are planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ibrahim made this statement while responding to questions on Channels Television.

He stated that many people have already decamped to the party, with more expected to join in the coming weeks.

When asked if the criticism of APC policies by its own members is a good sign for the party and the Tinubu government, Ibrahim countered that the focus should not be solely on criticism, but also on the influx of new members from the PDP.

“What about those from PDP that are joining us?” Ibrahim asked. “You’re not looking at that. You abandoned it completely. You’re not talking about people who have come from the PDP to join us. How about Wike?”

Ibrahim pointed out that despite Wike’s claims of being a PDP member, he is serving in the APC government. He also hinted that several governors are planning to join the APC, but declined to mention names to avoid embarrassing them.

His words: “How many of them are planning to come? How many senators have now left and are planning to come? Some Governors are planning to join APC of course, I don’t want to mention them so that I don’t embarrass people.

“But I can tell you that when I come next [to the programme], I’m telling you again…when I come back, next time you’ll see governor crossed to APC.”

Several PDP governors have been accused of plotting to dump the party for the APC ahead of the 2027 general election. These governors, who are all first-term governors, are allegedly scared of President Bola Tinubu using federal might to stop their second-term ambitions.

The accused governors include Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, and Ademola Adeleke of Osun. However, all of them previously denied the allegations, vowing to remain with the opposition PDP.
