Senate President Akpabio has sued Senator Natasha over social media controversial apology.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio has taken serious legal action against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following a social media post he believes was intended to mock him.

This Nigeria news platform learnt that the lawsuit was filed on May 7, 2025, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

It came in response to an apology letter posted on Facebook by the suspended senator representing Kogi Central.

The court filing, registered under suit number CS/384/25, demands that Senator Natasha remove the controversial post from all her social media pages.

In addition, Akpabio wants a written apology from her to be published in at least two national newspapers.

He also requests an affidavit to confirm that she has complied with the demands.

Senator Natasha’s post, shared on April 27, was written in a sarcastic tone.

In it, she addressed Akpabio directly, pretending to apologise for what she described as having dignity and independence in the face of pressure.

She went on to write about how she had supposedly failed to understand the “rules” of working in the Senate, mocking the idea that success there depends on submission rather than merit.

Her message ended with a dramatic expression of fake regret for choosing integrity over personal favours.

Akpabio’s lawyers, led by Kehinde Ogunwumiju, claim the Facebook post disobeyed a court order given on April 4.

That order had instructed both parties to stay silent in public about the ongoing case involving sexual harassment claims.

Akpabio’s team said Natasha’s message crossed the line and broke the court’s instructions.
