NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Edo-born Nollywood actress Sharon Okpamen has reportedly passed away, just a month after welcoming her second child.
According to multiple online reports, Okpamen fell into a coma shortly after giving birth in July 2024. Despite medical efforts, the actress tragically passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her colleague and movie producer, Stanley Ontop, who shared a sombre tribute on Instagram the same day.
Stanley Ontop expressed his sorrow, stating, “Nollywood Actor and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur & humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry. May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen @sharonokpamen. It can only get better .”
Sharon Okpamen was well-known in the Edo entertainment industry for her acting talent and humanitarian efforts. Her untimely death has left the Nollywood community and her fans in deep mourning.
