BREAKING: Labour Walks Out Of Minimum Wage Meeting, Set For May 31 Showdown

Today’s meeting ended in a deadlock, with no agreement reached on the new minimum wage.

Labour has walked out of the minimum wage meeting with FG and is set for a May 31 showdown bearing any last-minute offer.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Organised Labour on Tuesday, May 28, staged a walkout during the Tripartite Committee meeting on Minimum Wage, rejecting the federal government’s increased offer of N60,000.

The labour union, however, shifted its position from its previous stance of ₦497,000 to ₦494,000.

This Nigeria news platform understands that the government had initially proposed ₦48,000 and ₦54,000 last week, both of which were rejected by labour.
