Kogi Assembly has suspended 9 Lawmakers and 5 Council Chairmen.

NewsOnline reports that nine (9) kogi state lawmakers were on Thursday suspended by the state House of Assembly.

The state legislative chamber also suspended five Local government council chairmen.

Amongst those suspended were the majority leader of the House, Muhammed Bajeh and the Lokoja council chairman, Muhammed Dan-Asebe for misappropriation of funds.

The suspension of the Lawmaker in some quarters had also been linked to anti-party activities in the last Saturday House of Assembly election.

This is not the first time the state assembly is suspending some of its members. Recall that the north central state legislative body removed its deputy speaker and three other principal officers last year.

It also suspended Okene local government chairman last year.
