BREAKING: Government Announces Official Public Holiday

The government's statement clarified that certain ministries, departments, and official institutions, whose nature of work required ongoing operations, were exempt from the holiday.

Government has announced an official public holiday.

 

NewsOnline reports that the Jordanian government, under Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, on Monday issued a decree to suspend all ministries, official departments, public institutions and bodies, state universities, municipalities, joint service councils, and fully government-owned companies on Sunday, June 9th, 2024.

 

 

The decree coincided with the celebration of His Majesty’s accession to the throne and the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s assumption of constitutional powers. The holiday was observed to honor these occasions.

The government’s statement clarified that certain ministries, departments, and official institutions, whose nature of work required ongoing operations, were exempt from the holiday.

 

The decree also highlighted the significance of this occasion for Jordanians, who reflect on the progress and development achieved in the country, and renew their commitment to a better future for Jordan.
