Former APC National Chairman has dumped the party and joined coalition against Tinubu.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has officially left the ruling All Progressives Congress and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

His move comes amid growing cracks within the APC, as the 2027 general election draws nearer.

Oyegun, who served as APC’s first national chairman from 2013 to 2018 and played a leading role in helping the party win the 2015 presidential election, has now aligned with the opposition coalition under the ADC banner.

He is believed to be working closely with other key political figures like Atiku Abubakar and Aminu Tambuwal to strengthen the coalition.

The ADC has recently welcomed other high-profile defectors, including former Chief of Air Staff Saddique Abubakar and former Edo State governor Oserheimen Osunbor.

Oyegun’s decision to switch parties is seen as a major boost to the ADC’s ongoing plan to become a major force in the coming elections.

Sources say the move was carefully planned, with some of the leaders pushing for the ADC to be adopted as the face of the new opposition coalition.
