FG has confirmed the arrest of Ansaru Terrorist Group Leaders.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government has confirmed the arrest of two top commanders of the Ansaru terrorist group.

Thsi Nigeria news platform understands that National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, disclosed this on Saturday during a press briefing on recent security developments at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

According to Ribadu, those apprehended are Abu Baraa, the group’s Amir (leader), and Mahmuda, the deputy Amir. Both men are alleged to have coordinated several terrorist attacks across Nigeria, including high-profile kidnappings.

The briefing was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation.

Authorities say further details regarding the operation leading to their arrest will be made public in due course.
