
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Nigeria’s power grid has collapsed again, with the country currently generating only 0.80 megawatts of electricity.
According to the website of the Independent System Operator, which is an autonomous arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), it was observed that the power plants’ contribution to the grid started to decrease around 2 pm, dropping to 2,797.16MW from the average of 3,417.99MW around 1 pm.
The electricity contribution further declined to 1,020.08 around 3 pm before dramatically falling to 0.80 by 4 pm.
The Trans-Amadi Power Plant generated 0.80 and this marks the fourth power grid collapse in 2024.
