BREAKING: Egypt Police Arrest Abuja-Kaduna Train Bandits’ Negotiator, Mamu

Though the government has been mute on the release of the victims, Newsonline gathered that victims paid N100 million to get released.

The Egyptian Police have arrested the lead negotiator between bandits and the passengers kidnapped from the attacked Abuja-Kaduna train, Alhaji Tukur Mamu.

 

Newsonline reports that Mamu was arrested in Cairo, the Egyptian capital on Tuesday.

 

The bandits’ negotiator was said to have been arrested in Egypt alongside his family members.

 

Mamu was said on his way to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj when he was detained at the Cairo International Airport.

 

Newsonline had reported that bandits attacked the Abuja-Kaduna bound AK9 train on March, 28, and abducted some passengers.

 

Recall that Mamu who is a spokesperson for the bandits said that 23 victims were still held by the bandits.

He also pleaded with the families of the victims to mobilize funds for the rescue of the remaining victims.

 

Mamu also said that the bandit’s leader had already fallen in love with one of the Christian girls and was planning to marry the girl.

 

Though the government has been mute on the release of the victims, Newsonline gathered that victims paid N100 million to get released.
